Fade Double for '3'

Overview: This sidecourt inbounds play is going to be most effective during last second situations such as end of game, half, or quarter.

When the inbounds passer (3) receives the ball from the official, player 2 cuts hard towards the ball off of a screen from 1.  (If this is so poorly played by the defense, a pass could be made here for a shot -- however, the way the defense generally plays it will open up the 3-pointer in the next movement).

After player 2 cuts off the screen, player 1 quickly turns to set another screen for 2.  2 turns and, using the screen from 1, starts running out to the opposite side of the court.  Players 4 and 5 step in to set a doublescreen as player 2 fades out to the 3-point line.  Player 3 passes to 2 for the shot.

Coaching Points: The player making the inbounds pass will need to have the strength and ability to throw a high lob-type pass across the court.  It must go high like a skip pass against a zone or it will not clear the defense.  Also, if the shooter (2) is not open, look for 1 to get open on his own or for 2 to cut hard towards the ball.  Another option may also open up with #4 (the high player on the doublescreen).  If his defender gives too much help, he may find himself open by taking a quick step or two towards the passer and near the foul line.  Certainly various options can present themselves here, but the main focus is getting the '3' when needed.
