Sidecourt Inbounds Play

3 High

1

The '3 High' sidecourt out of bounds play is a nice play to utilize when the basketball is taken out at about the free throw line extended or below.

When the official hands the basketball to #1, #2 sets up his defender and then cuts hard across the lane to post up and receive the pass.  (#2 might need to come out further to get the basketball; if so, then he can shuffle dribble into the post.)

On the pass, #3 is using #4 and #5 to sell the weakside skip pass.
2

After the pass, #1 cuts hard to the basket and clears to the far corner.

Once the basketball is in the low post, #3 comes off of a double screen set by #4 and #5.  #2 looks to pass to #3 for a three-point shot.  #4 should roll down the lane after the screen, in case #3 is not open or if his defender helps out too much.

If both passing options are covered, the guard (2) will usually be in a one-on-one situation close to the basket and can work for a shot.
